New alliance infuses capital and technology into golden packaging systems supplier

7/16/2007 8:00:00 AM

Golden, CO – Omnitech International, Inc. (OII), a privately held Colorado company, announced today that it has taken a major step forward in its transition from its historical role as a can line systems integrator to a technological leader and international supplier of innovative, flexible, and scalable drawn and ironed metal packaging systems. Building on its mission to “Expand the market for D&I technology by making it more flexible and capable of producing new containers which maintain the positive attributes and advantages of the D&I process and the packages it produces,” OII has increased its capitalization substantially through issuance new shares totaling 20% minority ownership in the company to two new shareowners, Scott Coors and Elmer Werth, complementing the incumbent ownership team of Chris Olson and Harold Cook. As an important part of the transaction, Coors and Werth have granted OII an exclusive worldwide license for development and use of an innovative new technology developed by their company, Werth Advanced Packaging Innovations, LTD. “We are very excited to be taking this next critical step for Omnitech with Scott and Elmer,” said Chris Olson, President and CEO. “With the increase to our capitalization, their leadership talent, and exclusive access to their process technology which we expect to further improve the efficiency of our existing MicroFlex™ designs, Harold and I believe the company is perfectly positioned to stake its claim as the preeminent supplier of flexible D&I systems to a global packaging marketplace.” In addition to their investment of capital and technology, Coors and Werth assume roles as officers of the company. Coors, with a depth of leadership experience in manufacturing operations, project management, quality, marketing, and financial planning, joins the company as its Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In this role he assumes leadership of Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Procurement, and Human Resources, reporting to Olson. Werth, with more than forty five years of tenure with Coors Brewing Company, joins the company in the role of Executive Vice President of Research and Development, complimenting Cook in his role as Executive Vice President of Engineering and Technology. Werth’s key strength is in his vision for the future of technology, and his unstoppable passion for challenging the status quo in developing innovative solutions to difficult engineering challenges. Omnitech International, Inc. focuses on the innovation, development and installation of highly flexible, scalable, two piece drawn and ironed packaging systems technologies. Founded in 1976 as Container Technology Corp., the company has operated under the leadership of owners Olson and Cook since 1993.
